Dial-A-Ride Bus Service |

Dial-A-Ride is a ‘reservation’ bus service that operates in specific areas of the county where commuter bus service may be available, but mid-day service is not. Kitsap Transit currently only offers Dial-A-Ride service on Bainbridge Island, in the Kitsap Lake area, in Illahee, in South Kitsap and in the North end of Kitsap County. If you are traveling to a destination outside your Dial-A-Ride area, Kitsap Transit will provide transport to the nearest transfer center.
Dial-A-Ride is operated by Kitsap Transit’s ACCESS program, which normally operates just for the elderly and disabled. Dial-A-Ride service, however, is open to any rider.
Dial-A-Ride is offered on a call-in reservation basis. Riders must call the day before, but no more than 7 days before they want to take a ride.
Individual Dial-A-Ride trips may be grouped with other Dial-A-Ride or ACCESS service trips to the same or nearby destinations. For riders planning a trip for a scheduled appointment or to connect to another Kitsap Transit bus, the trip will be scheduled to meet those specific time needs. For trips with no specific time constraints, riders may be asked to adjust their desired trip time to coordinate with other scheduled trips in their area.
Dial-A-Ride serivce is not designed to accommodate group trips. If you are making a reservation for more than one person, please notify ACCESS when you call. We will try our best to meet all requested trips but cannot guarantee seating for groups.

Dial-A-Ride passengers pay $1.50 each way.

Bainbridge Island - Kitsap Transit Dial-A-Ride will pick up riders anywhere on Bainbridge Island, and drop them off anywhere on the Island. For travel off the island, a Dial-A-Ride bus can take riders to the Bainbridge Island Ferry to connect with other Kitsap Transit buses.
Kitsap Lake - Kitsap Transit Dial-A-Ride will make trips within the area directly around Kitsap Lake, Harlow Drive, and Northlake and Chico Way north to Golf Club Hill. Kitsap Lake Dial-A-Ride will also serve Nollwood. Buses will pick up riders in these areas and take them to the West Bremerton Transfer Center to connect with other Kitsap Transit buses.
Illahee - Kitsap Transit Dial-A-Ride will make trips within the area of Illahee/Gilberton Road from Sylvan Road north to the Brownsville Marina. Service covers the area from the waterfront west to Hwy. 303, excluding the Kariotis area which is served by the Kitsap Transit's #15 and #23 routed buses. Buses will pick up riders in these areas and take them to the East Bremerton Transfer Center to connect with other Kitsap Transit buses.
North Kitsap - Kitsap Transit Dial-A-Ride will make trips within the greater North Kitsap area east of Clear Creek Road and north of Sherman Hill Road. The Dial-A-Ride service area includes Hansville, Kingston, Indianola, Suquamish, Breideblik, Lofall, Port Gamble, Gamblewood, and Poulsbo. Buses will pick up riders in these areas and take them to the nearest transfer point to connect with other Kitsap Transit buses. Dial-A-Ride complements existing routed bus service available in some areas of North Kitsap. Trips that can be made on existing routed service will not be scheduled on Dial-A-Ride.
South Kitsap - Kitsap Transit Dial-A-Ride will make trips within the area of Sedgwick Road south to the Pierce County line. Service covers the area from Sidney Avenue east to Olalla Valley Road.
Call Kitsap Transit at 1-800-422-2877 the day before, but nor more than 7 days before you want to take your trip. Tell the reservationist where you want to go and when, and they will arrange your trip.
Reservations are taken Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm and weekends and holidays from 8am to 5pm.
